*Launch dedicated to his writing mentor – The abducted activist, Itai Dzamara
*Certainly one of the best nights of his life
*Overwhelming response on the day of the launch
On Friday, 10 April, Dr. Patson Dzamara, the younger brother of the abducted activist, Itai Dzamara launched his 6th book (DEAR MISS, DEAR MISTER) at Jameson Hotel in Harare.
Despite the austere and challenging situation they are grappling with as a family, Dzamara chose to defy the odds and he launched his new book. He said, “Indeed it is not a good space we are in as a family. We are distraught but life has to go on. We remain hopeful that Itai Dzamara shall be with us soon.”
Dzamara thanked God for allowing him to be a custodian of such a gift. He said, “I am because of God’s grace. Its all about God’s grace. Words fail me. I am overwhelmed by the support and vote of confidence i received from the 267 people who made it to my launch. Our expectations were exceeded. The conference room was filled to capacity and some people had to be standing.
It was a phenomenal night punctuated with high octane activity.”
The launch was attended by many high profile individuals from various sectors. These include, Dr. Dzamara’s source of inspiration, Leonard Zhakata. His mentors, Chomi Makina (Moonlight CEO) and Matts Kunaka (ICAZ CEO) also attended the launch and they all endorsed him. Other prominent individuals who attended and endorsed Dzamara at the launch were Kuwadzana MP, Nelson Chamisa, AAG President, Chamu Chiwanza, and Mai Gunguwo who gave the main speech.
It was also a night full of entertainment as renowned musicians took turns to entertain the guests. The musicians who performed are Pastor Gee, Baba Shupi, Gary Tight and Trust Makurumure. They all did a splendid job.
One of the major highlights of the launch was a prolific panel discussion which was moderated by the effervescent talks show host, Tariro Makanga. The five panelists were, Himesh Travedi, Brendan Palmer, Cynthia Hakutangwi, Pastor Gee, Wizzy Mangoma.
The prolific talk show host, Mai Chisamba could not make to the launch but she endorsed Dzamara through a video. She said, “Dzamara has been blessed with wisdom beyond his age and she has learnt a lot of invaluable lessons through reading his books.”
Other established authors came to support their colleague. Prominent among those who attended are, Rabison Shumba, Tsungi Chiwara, Cynthia Hakutangwi and Evans Bangira.
Dzamara said, “I dedicate the launch of my 6th book to my writing mentor and brother Itai Dzamara who is still missing. We believe he will be back with us soon and i know he will be proud of me over what happened on Friday, 10 April.”
The other five books written by Dzamara are, The Winning Team, The Anatomy of Process, Dimensional Leadership, Finish What You Start and The Development Matrix.
Dr. Dzamara, who has established and distinguished himself as a prolific author and one of the foremost original leadership contributors in Africa has plans to launch at least two more books this year. He has also written movie scripts and songs. He projects to release his first album before the end of this year and his first movie in 2017
